I live in Fairfield, California with my little family. My husband Ezra, rides his bicycle to work 11 miles one way every day. We used to live in San Francisco, a decidedly pro-bicycle environment. I rode my bike every day while I could, and stopped when I was too pregnant, and didn't want to risk a fall. When we moved back to Fairfield, it was all too obvious that the locals weren't too excited about having to share the roads with a few more pedallers.
That said, I am going to attempt to ride my bike every day, for 30 days. This will include trips to the grocery store, rainy days, commuting to school, and other things. I will indicate whether Olivia (our almost-three-year-old daughter) is accompanying me in the tow-behind trailer, or if it's a solo trip. I will probably compare the difficulty with riding in San Francisco, and how hard it is to park and lock up my bike. I will also probably include how safe I feel on the ride, and leaving my bike locked outside wherever I'd gone. I'm looking forward to this experiment.
